Wife 82 years old is in excrutiating p[ain. Source as seen on MRIs and x-rays is due to scoliosis engendered by disc degeneration in lumbar spine. This has caused spinal tilt to her left side and she has agonizing pain in the upper left buttox area. All alternatives have failed to provide any relief at all. Even Oxycontin does not help. Now have to make a decsion for surgery. Complicating factors are CML and an infected (staph) prosthetic knee. Am looking for description of what the surgery involves. TIA
