    Symptoms
Chronic pain is frequent or consistent pain that does not respond to traditional methods of treatment. It may start as the result of an injury, but your body’s and your brain’s response to the injury will determine how much pain you are actually in and how long that pain will last. Some people will suffer acute pain, which lasts only a brief period of time and has a clear cause. Chronic pain usually lasts upwards of three months and is usually more severe than the injury would indicate.
