  • Rheumatoid Factor (RF)

    Overview:
The rheumatoid factor (RF) test is an indicator of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

    Detailed Information:
Eight out of 10 people with RA test positive for RF. Although it is not completely indicative of the presence of RA, chances are that you have it if you are RF positive.

If the test comes back RF negative, the course of illness should be milder. You may also have intermittent swelling and remission that last over a year, as well as long periods of inactivity.
